By comparison of the historical components in the material samples with the local raw materials and the materials used in other already researched artworks, we will be able to shed light into the differences and similarities in Indo-Portuguese painting production of the 16th and 17th century, also establishing their influence on local creation. The role played by local materials and expertise in the making of Indo-Portuguese paintings may also be a defining factor for comparing with the imported art.
