The ARTIS - Art History Institute (FLUL) newsletter (#08/2024 | September) is now available online.
Azulejos applied between 1748 and 1749 with an iconographic programme dedicated to Queen Isabel. A church demolished between 1945 and 1946, but whose tiles have been boxed up and stored ever since. A project to inventory, assemble and install the tiles began in 2012.

This month we gave interns Madalena Leaper and Rafaela Fonseca a free hand to design and produce AzLab#96. The only thing we asked was that the episode should reflect the work they have been doing at the Querubim Lapa Study Centre since February, under the supervision of Suzana Lapa and Rosário Salema de Carvalho.

The "AD GLORIAM DEI" exhibition aims to present the historical and artistic aspects of the brotherhoods of Mafra. It centres on the one that is not only the oldest but also the heir to all the others: the Royal and Venerable Brotherhood of the Blessed Sacrament of the parish of Santo André of Mafra.
